Project title: Universal model of professional course for new age child carers for women aged 50-64 years.
Project Number: 2016-1-PL01-KA202-026165, Erasmus+, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices
Duration: 24 months. From 2016 - 2018
Concept
One of the main objectives of the Europe2020 strategy is to increase professional activity at the European labour market to 75% among people aged 20-64 and the fight against social exclusion and poverty. To achieve these objectives, it is necessary to increase the employment rate among women aged 50-64, which in 28 Member Countries in 2014 amounted 54.3%.
The reasons for such low level of employment are different, among others, obsolete skills, lack of motivation to acquire new professional skills and a sense of "being too old" to take up employment and education - which is associated with low self-esteem and feeling of insecurity in the labor market.
The concept of the project is not to change the ideas, views and established patterns of women functioning but to use them as a basis for professional activation. We would like to take advantage of experience gained from running a home and raising children and sometimes grandchildren to create a concept model of a new training course. This vocational course would allow women to reconcile the values associated with family life, unique skills and personal attribute and start a new but "old and well-known” job.
Objectives of the project
The main aim of the project is to develop a concept of vocational training model for potential childcarers. Through the establishment of international cooperation on the exchange of experience, information, ideas during the project will develop a review of available methods for checking the suitability of the course candidate and the example scope of course model which would be needed to meet requirements of the modern labor market. Thematic modularity will allow adaptation of the model in various European countries.
